How To "Grab A Button"

How To “Grab A Button”

Go to the Blog that you would like to “Grab the Button” from. Right click on the button, then click on “Save Picture As” and in “File Name” type in the Name of the blog so you can remember which one you need when you have to get it again later. Then click on “Save”. Now click on their Header to make sure you’re at their Home Page and now click on their address in the address bar (make sure your cursor is in the highlighted space) and right click your mouse, then click “Copy”. Now, go to your blog’s homepage. In the upper right hand corner click on “Design”, then find the Tab that says “DESIGN” and click on it. It should say “Add and Arrange Page Elements”. If it doesn’t click on “Elements” in the upper left hand corner of the “Designs” page, then click on “Add a Gadget”. A new window will pop up that says “Add a Gadget”. There is a “Basics” tab on the left sidebar, make sure this is the tab you are in. Scroll down until you see “Picture” (it has a green tree) and click on the “+”. Another window will pop up that says “Configure Image”. In the “Title” type in the name of the Blog. Move your cursor to the “Link” line and right click behind the http:// and right click and then click “Paste”. You will need to remove one set of the http://’s. Now for the Image that you previously saved. I like to keep the buttons the same size that they have on their blog so, I uncheck the box that says, “Shrink to fit”. Now then, click on, “From your computer“, and now “Browse”, next, on your computer go to where you saved the image and double click on the picture. Click on the “Save” button. Look on your “Design” page and you should see the name of the blog that you typed in. And, that’s it. You should see their button when you go to preview you blog. If it’s not in the spot you want it to be in you can drag and drop it anywhere you can put a “Gadget”. I hope this helps someone because I couldn’t find step-by-step instructions. If you see I have left out a step or just not sure of the way I’ve tried to explain it please email me and I will try to answer any questions.

Old Building / New Restaurant

Where to start?  We just bought a Mesker Brothers building that is over 100 years old. Mesker Brothers built  metal and iron that either accented or covered the front of buildings in the late 1800's and 1900's.  Ours is the whole upper section.  The French settled  this area and our building has Fleur-de-lis on the upper corners.  I would love to find out what colors were in style in Europe at the time the building was built and repaint.

The back of the bottom half was actually someone's home.  That is a bonus for us because we can stay in there while we're redoing the upper floor.  Eventually this will be our home for a little while until we find just the right piece of land to build our Dream Home on.  It's going to take a lot of work.

The ceiling

Where the cinders blocks are will be windows

Where the kitchen will be

I love the wood wall.

We will have 14 ft ceilings.  AWSOME huh?

The door that goes into the upper floor dining area.  I want to put up a  rolling barn door here.

The door above separates our home space from the upper dining room.  This room was a mess.

I can't wait to get the windows put back in.

It does look a bit different down stairs.  I have thought about trying to repaint to our taste but, I just keep telling myself that I need to keep it like it is and save all the sprucing up for our place when we get to that part upstairs.  But, it is soooooo hard ladies, ya know what I'm talking about?

I did repaint the bathroom, it was the same color as the bedroom.

Temporary furniture from my dad and Craigslist.

Well that's it.  There is a front part to the ground floor but, I didn't take any pictures.  I'm so excited to take you on our journey of opening up our restaurant we have dreamed of having almost as long as we have been married.  It is going to be really hard going from around 4,000 sqft to just at 1,200 (where O' where will I put all my stuff)!

Mothers Day

Good afternoon ladies.  I hope everyone had a great Mothers Day :)  My hubby and I got back home Saturday evening from working on the building for our restaurant.  More on the restaurant tomorrow, so come back :) My oldest daughter that lives in New Mexico sent me flowers that got here a short time after we got home.  I know what your thinking, "Oh, how sweet."  Yes, she is :)  Can you tell I'm happy by all the smiley faces.  These are the flowers.

Then Sunday morning  my youngest daughter gave me flowers too.

Again, I know what your thinking, "Oh, how sweet."  Yes, she is :) lol.  For dinner we out to eat at a Japanese Steak house.  I love to watch those guys do the tricks with fire and the knives.  And ladies I have just as sweet a husband too.  I was doing some laundry after we got home and when I came back into the living room I saw this

My very own laptop!!!!  and yepper it's PURPLE.  I can blog from our building now.  Happy days are here again :) :)  I'm still trying to get it personalized but, I'll haver there soon.  So, I had a great Mothers Day.  I'm not sure which one wanted me to have my own laptop more, my daughter: because I always had hers (it's just like mine but white), my hubby: because when we were at the building I had his and he wouldn't let me blog (dangers of the dark side of the internet) and he had to listen to me whining the whole week or me: because I wanted to blog and couldn't.  But, I have one now and I LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!

See everyone tomorrow.
