Julie & Julia and a Mantel

Today has been a lazy day.  I went out to the shop this morning and put some stripper on a Cracker Barrel rocking chair that I'm re-doing.  I got the two arms done and by that time it was already in the mid 90's.  So, I came in and watched Julie & Julia (I love that movie).

But!, the other day I went shopping at Hobby Lobby (66% off) and Goodwill and found some things that  NEEDED a good and loving home.

Queen Bee wanted to show all of you how comfy the rugs are.

After trying a lot of different pieces on my mantel these spoke to me.  Do your things talk to you too?

The candle holder in this picture is from a previous trip to Goodwill.

I hope all you ladies have taken advantage of Hobby Lobby's sale.  I go back and forth from our main house to our second home/restaurant and it's a 4 hour trip, so, when I saw the 66% off at my hometown HL, I started stopping at all of them on my route.  I've found that Texas has a style all its own, well at least different than Arkansas's, because all the things that are scarce on the shelves here are plentiful there.  I've got to find spots for the rest and I can't wait to show you when I do.

Here's to lazy days,

Theresa

  2. Theresa,

WOW! You scored some amazing pieces. LOVE the bunny plate and the sweet little vase. Your mantel looks great! Wish there were Hobby Lobby's in California.

  3. How fun! Love the mantel. I have the same color red in my kitchen and I see you love birdies too! No Hobby Lobby's where I live but we have Michaels which I love. I was going in there at least once a week with coupons until I went on vacation and now I'm broke :) Have a blessed day. - Marie

  5. Hello,
I saw your blog on Household Harmony. I laughed when you talked about decorating your Barbie's house. I, too, loved Barbies. Me and my friend used to spend hours playing with them. I also liked the movie Julie and Julia. In fact, I bought it for my kids this last Christmas because they all like to cook. Your pictures are lovely. Me and my daughters just started a new blog, and we would love it if you could visit us and follow. I would enjoy coming back to visit with you, and seeing all your unique and creative ideas. Hope to hear from you, and have a sweet day.
